Maharashtra Bal Sangopan Yojana 2024

The Bal Sangopan Yojana was initiated in 2008 to provide financial assistance for the education of children. Through this scheme, children receive economic support of ₹1125 per month. Even orphaned children due to COVID-19 are eligible for this scheme. If one parent of the child dies due to COVID-19 and the other is a non-earning member, the child can still be enrolled under this scheme. There is also a recommendation to expand the scope of this scheme by the government. Under this scheme, children currently receive ₹1125 financial assistance, which could be increased to ₹2500. Additionally, free education could also be provided to children under this scheme.

It has been reported by sources that a proposal to deposit ₹500,000 into the accounts of children orphaned due to COVID-19 was put forth in this meeting. Additionally, the Women and Child Development Department has been directed by the Chief Minister to provide information on additional expenses besides the annual expenditure on existing schemes, so that a decision can be made on effective implementation.

The main objective of the Maharashtra Bal Sangopan Yojana is to provide financial assistance to those parents who, due to any reason, are unable to provide education to their children.
